Kent Windmills - Kent County Council was given its first windmill at Chillenden in 1958. In the following year two more were handed over - at Meopham and West Kingsdown. Others followed, until now eight are looked after by the County Council. Herne Windmill,

Reculver Country Park offers lovely walks from Bishopstone to the ruins of a Roman fort and Saxon church. The Information Centre offers a fascinating insight into the history and natural history of this stretch of coastline.

Reculver Country Park is maintained by a partnership between Kent Wildlife Trust, English Heritage
and Canterbury City Council and is crossed by the Saxon Shore Way and Wantsum Walks.
