Herne Bay

Enjoy the luxury of this peaceful house of character and Edwardian nostalgia in this small, smart seaside town just 7 miles from Canterbury. Situated in a quiet area with safe, off street parking and ideally located for exploring Kent and the surrounding area.

Herne Bay seafront has been restored in recent years to provide a delightful promenade which includes covered seating & sculptures with, at its centre, the impressive Bandstand which houses a cafe bar, tourist information centre and enclosed seating area with sea views for summer concerts.

The High Street and parallel Mortimer Street (which is pedestrianised) have a wealth of fascinating little shops to browse through. among them are a wide selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs at which to rest and enjoy a snack, lunch or later in the day, an evening meal. There are several more places to eat situated on the seafront with views over the bay.

All within an hours drive of Foxden!

Foxden is just five minutes from the network of main roads that will take you within an hour to medieval Faversham and Rochester, historic Dover and Deal, quaint Whitstable, ancient sandwich, tradtional Broadstairs as well as to the established seaside towns of Margate, Ramsgate and Folkestone.

Within the area covered by these towns are a host of stately homes, gardens and other attractions to visit such as the beautiful Leeds Castle, Higham Park, Quex Park, Belmont House, Mount Ephraim Gardens, Sarre Windmill and Reculver Country Park. We have information on all these and more to help you plan your sightseeing whilst staying with us at Foxden.
